Haters and Heathens hatin' on Righteouness?

Many of the Scribes and Pharisees were 'hater-hoe-heathen' types, for Jesus said of them (at Matthew 23:15), ‘Woe to you Scribes and Pharisees – hypocrites – because you travel land and sea to make a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of the garbage dump (gr. Gehenna) as yourselves.’ Gehenna was the name of the garbage dump outside the walls of Jerusalem in Jesus’ time, and it appears as though his use of this term implied that such individuals (the irreverent Scribes and Pharisees) could not expect a resurrection, they will just be gone.
Righteous people are at peace with others – James 3:18, ‘The seeds of the fruit of righteousness are planted in peace by those who are making peace.’
You have to be an honest judge to be found righteous – John 7:24, ‘Quit judging from the way things look on the surface; judge righteously!’
Righteousness involves standing up for right things, even if that invites persecution – Acts 4:19, 20, ‘If it’s righteous in God’s eyes to listen to you instead of to God, judge for yourselves. But we can’t stop talking about the things we’ve seen and heard.’

Human Stupidity!

Worldwide more than a third of all grain and 90 percent of soy gets fed to livestock.

Xenophobia in South Africa

The instance of xenophobia in South Africa is largely linked to immigration. The South African government last year repatriated 170,000 people. The great majority of these people were undocumented immigrants from various countries in Africa. One hundred thousand came from Mozambique, 50,000 from Zimbabwe, 6,000 from Lesotho and 3,500 each from Swaziland and Malawi. The figures do not tell the whole story of undocumented immigrants who cross South Africa's borders in search of safety and better opportunities. There are thousands of foreign nationals who, while they do not possess legalising documents, stay undetected in the country for long periods of time. In addition, there are thousands of immigrants from the continent who are refugees and others who hold various types of permits, including documents for work and study purposes. The increased immigration was a predictable consequence of South Africa's democratic breakthrough in 1994. More immigrants, and not less, are going to come to South Africa. This will continue to be the case each year until both the political and economic conditions on the continent change for the better and Africa has been fully integrated into the global economy, as envisaged in the Millennium Partnership for the African Recovery Programme, however initial regional integration is necessary before any of this occurs.

Permaculture: once the norm in South Africa

The word "permaculture" was coined in 1978 by Bill Mollison, an Australian ecologist, and one of his students, David Holmgren. It is a contraction of "permanent agriculture" or "permanent culture." Permaculture is about designing ecological human habitats and food production systems. It is a land use and community building movement which strives for the harmonious integration of human dwellings, microclimate, annual and perennial plants, animals, soils, and water into stable, productive communities. The focus is not on these elements themselves, but rather on the relationships created among them by the way we place them in the landscape. This synergy is further enhanced by mimicking patterns found in nature. A central theme in permaculture is the design of ecological landscapes that produce food. Emphasis is placed on multi-use plants, cultural practices such as sheet mulching and trellising, and the integration of animals to recycle nutrients and graze weeds. However, permaculture entails much more than just food production. Energy-efficient buildings, waste water treatment, recycling, and land stewardship in general are other important components of permaculture. More recently, permaculture has expanded its purview to include economic and social structures that support the evolution and development of more permanent communities, such as co-housing projects and eco-villages. As such, permaculture design concepts are applicable to urban as well as rural settings, and are appropriate for single households as well as whole farms and villages.
"Integrated farming" and "ecological engineering" are terms sometimes used to describe perma-culture, with "cultivated ecology" perhaps coming the closest. Permaculture: the use of ecology as the basis for designing integrated systems of food production, housing, appropriate technology, and community development. Permaculture is built upon an ethic of caring for the earth and interacting with the environment in mutually beneficial ways.

Hemp no longer a pre-19th century resource!

The longest, strongest, most elastic, and most durable fiber in nature, Hemp yields cloth, canvas, cordage, and other textiles. Hemp can be made into biodegradable plastics, more resistant to heavy blows than steel. Hemp has the most cellulose of any plant, and plastics are made from cellulose. Currently hemp cellulose is being used as a replacement for fiberglass car parts because hemp Biocomposites are lighter and safer than other alternatives.
Hemp can make virtually any building material including caulking, cement, fiberboard, flooring, insulation, paneling, particleboard, plaster, plywood, stucco, reinforced concrete, mortar, and biodegradable plastic. Hemp hurd can be compressed into foundations which are seven times stronger than concrete, half as heavy, and three times more elastic. Even under extreme pressure hemp-reinforced buildings will bend, but are less likely to break, and actually continue to get harder and stronger after they set. I believe that the main reason hemp is illegal today is because of biodiesel's potential. The first diesel engines (by Rudolph Diesel in 1894) were invented to run on hempseed oil; petroleum wasn't synthesized to mimic hempseed oil for over a decade. Therefore hempseed oil was the primary fuel for automobiles for over 30 years after the invention of the first internal combustion engine.

P.S. (important aside comment)

Patients in any of the 12 USA states that currently allow medicinal cannabis are qualified if they've been previously diagnosed with chronic pain, chronic nausea, AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, chronic muscle spasms and other spastic disorders such as multiple sclerosis, seizure disorders such as epilepsy, gastrointestinal disorders such as IBS, Crohn's disease and the inability to eat, or patients who have medical treatments for other conditions that cause one of these conditions.

Subjects to Ecology, Not Objects of Ecology

Many of you (my adoring fans I hope!) may not realize it, but ecology effects us daily. Every time you turn on the ignition in your car, you are changing the environment. Whenever you are concerned about overflowing landfills (or throw too much away), worry about global warming, the disappearance of tropical rainforestsand the ozone layer, or the killing off of many animals to make room for houses, parking lots, and other public buildings (contended simplistically).
The measure of environmental impact is embodied in the I=PAT equation: the scale of human impact (I) on the environment is equal to the product of the population size (P), consumption per person or affluence (A), and the damage done by technology (T). Since 1850, our population has increased fivefold, and the use of energy per person (A times T) has multiplied fourfold. Thus, in the last 150 years, our impact on the environment has increased about twenty fold! Just imagine what will happen as the population continues to multiply, people become richer, and technology grows bigger and more destructive!
We all must be aware of these ecological issues for one main reason: we only have one Earth! No one can replace good soil,
fresh water, and other organisms that are parts of ecosystems that are indispensable to society. We cannot survive without nature, which among many other things, maintains the balance of gases in the atmosphere (due to photosynthesis), fertilize soils, produce fresh water, and maintain genetic diversity. Beginning now, we have two options:
Continue today's trajectory until disease and hunger combines to halt the growth of human population, leading to catastrophe.
We can do something to slow down population growth as soon as possible (hopefully by 10 billion!). By regulating birth rates by our own submission, we can help bring the current population boom into a decline. One way to practice this is to only have two to three
children--one to replace each parent. We do not need any genocide, wars, etc. to keep population down--we just need to make the decision on our own to have less children!
Of course, this second solution brings up much argument. Some say it is a racist and elitist idea, giving the rich and dominant a vehicle to control the poor. However, this is not true. This solution actually can bring about some equality--everyone will be working together to save humanity for the better. Of course, there may be a few people that are extremely opposed to this solution, but ask yourself this: think forward many generations. Would you want your
children living in a world where there are too many mouths to feed and no natural resources left? Just think about it!

50 Cent (bad) Versus Nas (good)

Hip-Hop and Politics Inherently Intertwined

Originally authored by rap groups such as Public Enemy, Poor Righteous Teachers,
and N.W.A., political rap is traditionally said to encompass three subthemes: cultural
nationalist rap, Islamic nationalist rap, and gangsta rap. Today, political rap has resurged
among artists such as Mos Def, Nas, Dead Prez, and Common and among less
mainstream rappers such as Ms. Dynamite, Immortal Technique, and Medusa. In
addition, “neo-soul” artists with transaffiliations in hip hop culture such as Erykah Badu
and Jill Scott also assume the responsibility of recycling political messages back onto hip
hop audiences. Hip-Hop and Reggae musicians have always openly supported democrats during electoral periods, especially in the USA where republicans overtly and covertly oppose minority groupings and Hip-Hop/RAP (Rhythym And Poetry).

You've Failed Us: Time for Reform in South Africa

The ANC currently rules at the national level, fulfils the executive functions
outright in seven of the nine provinces, leads coalition governments in the
Western Cape and KwaZulu Natal, and rules in 68% of South Africa’s 248
municipalities. This achievement naturally emboldens the party and
reinforces perceptions of ascendance. This can not be considered their “fault”
and need not precipitate rumblings of imminent democratic doom. However,
the dominance of the party in South African governance, and in politics more
broadly, is self-evident, and brings into sharp focus the implications of the
health, or lack thereof, of the party for society at large. In the context of an ongoing political, social and institutional transition, and for the realisation of the constitutional imperatives for an accountable, transparent and participatory system of representative governance that
delivers substantively to its citizens, it follows that an ANC that is organisationally weak and lacks participation, or representation, and fails to account to both its constituents and society more broadly, is a normative bad for South Africa. Given the dominance of the party, and the manner in which it straddles the institutions and politics of our developing democracy, it means
that the strength or weakness of the outcomes of this democratic project
depend in very real ways on the relative strengths and weaknesses of the
ANC itself. It's high time for concentrating power within opposition forces, and portend a paradigm shift away from corrupt thin democracy and patronage, towards a deliberative social democracy teeming with solidarity and interaction, and diminshing of 'local-versus-provincial-versus-national-versus-regional-versus-continental-versus-global' relations within polities.

Continuing Revolution

ATHENS, Greece - Fairly recently police have fired tear gas to clear scores of youths during clashes outside a pro-marijuana festival in Athens.
Officers moved in as youths set fire to tires and blocked a busy road outside a university campus. No arrests or injuries were reported during three hours of pre-dawn clashes Saturday.
The two-day festival at the Agricultural University of Athens is part of an annual international campaign this weekend to promote the legalization of cannabis. It is illegal to grow or smoke marijuana in Greece although its use is widespread.

Random Thoughts of the Day

A large quadrant of our penchant for war emanates from our human intelligence and not from realist theories pertaining to our links to the cruel and violent world of animals and beasts.
What is ‘mos def’ apparent is that each human existence should involve prohibiting animalistic behaviour and attitudes in oneself, and separately in others.
Yet regulation methods should not be exploited to ultimately harm those who promote rational truthfulness and mystic knowledge, controlling moralities cannot be confined to laws and leaders.
Righteous people shall always be better in every possible manner, that is the utter truth.
Just as these honourable ones must be upheld and respected so must our environment or habitat be treated in the same way.
We cannot show humanity to another without showing humanity to an animal, as they are our natural neighbours.
Only when animal husbandry began did human slavery begin.
Difference between humans is extremely sparse, if not none, across the planet.
People who are varyingly opposed to those who drink and smoke herbs are idiots, yet if those who drank and smoked herbs opposed those who drink alcohols, smoke processed tobaccos and ingest man-made medications and drugs, they would not be called idiots by those ingesting these commercialised products.
One can never compete or compare continually, as human individuality is the greatest gift and asset to the human animal. The right type of person can create the right type of society. Conservatism is an integral part of the belief systems that have lasted the longest, but they often distort the past to suite desires that go against most belief systems.
Humans are the only animals that adapt to evil easily, and have wandered the furthest from their original self-awareness and consciousness.

Human Progress?

Its possible to speak of progress being a blazing bonfire that is only fuelled by one branch of the tree of reason. Fortunately human reason and intelligence becomes wider and more holistic (and accurate) as we progress, so that we reason (realise) the progress to be too much and too fast. What is evident is that progress was reasonable and sufficiently efficient in ancient societies (Ghana, Songhai, Abyssinia, China, Greece, Incans etc), whilst progress in the modern era is unplanned, sporadic, conflict-ridden and unregulated; essentially because the spheres of societal knowledge are not unified or holistic (e.g. classifying or segregating of natural sciences, or even the separation of sociology and anthropology). Some ‘pre-modern’ societies invented instruments that calculated physics, time, probabilities and astrology in a much more accurate and reliable manner, hence progress has fluctuated due to the badly reasoned interaction and maintenance of cultures and societies through human history. Yet as societies materially progress they lessen their ability to progress and continue, due to disregard of their habitats and environments and expansion capacities.

Be Joyous!

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds. It is quite common to hear people say: "Think positive!", to someone who feels down and worried. Most people do not take these words seriously, as they do not know what they really mean, or do not consider them as useful and effective. How many people do you know, who stop to think what the power of positive thinking means?

Shed ignorance and embrace the nudity of Truth

Jacob said in his Benediction almost four thousand years ago that, the scripture shall not depart from Judah, nor the lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh come. King Haile Selassie I is the three hundred and thirteenth king of all the kings of Ethiopia and the one hundred and thirteenth king of the Christian empire. He is also the 225th in a direct genetic bloodline of the Ethiopian monarch, Menelik being the first. Menelik was the son of Queen of Sheba and King Solomon who is the son of David king of Israel. "Prince shall come out of Egypt, and Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hand unto JAH" (psalm 68.vrs:31) "And one of the elder said unto me, weep not, behold the LION of the tribe of judah, the root of king David hath prevailed to open the book and to loose the seven seals thereof" (rev. 5 ver:5).

Our Mum, Da Earth (Gaia Awareness)

The Gaia Theory posits that the organic and inorganic components of Planet Earth have evolved together as a single living, self-regulating system. It suggests that this living system has automatically controlled global temperature, atmospheric content, ocean salinity, and other factors, tAfrica is facing the greatest catastrophe in human history. Pivotal Gaia destroyer: Climate Change: represents a nightmare scenario for the future of the people of the world's 'poorest' continent, according to the official preparing a top- level report which is due to land on the desks of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown in later this year. Emerging analysis seen by the Stern Review into the economic impact of climate change suggests one of the worst affected places on the planet will also be the poorest. Global warming could cause temperature rises double those elsewhere. The consequence would be dramatic declines in rainfall and a fall in crop yields that could make previous famines look like small tragedies. Desertification could accelerate around the Sahara. There are likely to be severe water shortages in many parts of the continenthat maintains its own habitability.
